Breeze compared
Breeze and Quick Share
Quick Share is Android’s built-in answer to AirDrop, and between Android devices it works well. Since late 2025, some recent Android phones can also trade files with iPhones and Macs over AirDrop. It needs a supported phone, and both sides have to be set to receive from everyone.
Breeze is native on both sides of the fence. And it meets Quick Share halfway: a Breeze device can receive files sent from Android’s share sheet with Quick Share, so the sender needs nothing installed.

When Quick Share is the better choice
- Two Android phones, nothing to install, no shared network. It is already there.
- You send to nearby strangers with Android phones.
- Your Android phone is on the supported list and you only send to an iPhone now and then.
When Breeze is the better choice
- An iPhone or a Mac is involved and your Android phone cannot reach AirDrop.
- You want one app that works the same on every device in the room.
- You want files kept in sync, not just handed over once.
- Friends on Android can still send you files with Quick Share, and Breeze receives them.
Quick Share covers Android to Android, and a few recent phones can reach Apple devices. Breeze covers any mix of devices in the room, and still accepts what Quick Share sends.
