Breeze compared

Breeze and AirDrop

AirDrop is great. Between two Apple devices it is fast, private, and built in. Some recent Android phones can now reach it through Quick Share, but only while both sides are set to receive from everyone. Windows cannot reach it at all.

Breeze brings the same feel to any mix of devices in the room, yours or anyone's. Nearby devices on a radar, tap to send, files arrive with previews. And it adds something AirDrop never had: Vaults that keep files in sync between the devices you invite.

When AirDrop is the better choice

  • Both devices are made by Apple and you want zero setup.
  • There is no shared network at all. AirDrop links two Apple devices directly.
  • You are sending to a stranger with an iPhone. Everyone already has it.

When Breeze is the better choice

  • A Windows PC or most Android phones are involved.
  • You want files to stay in sync across devices, not just move once.
  • You send to the same devices daily and want trusted auto-accept.
  • You want the same app, same gestures, on every platform you use.

Keep using AirDrop between two Apple devices. Use Breeze for everything AirDrop leaves out.
